June 1, 2005 *********** SPECIAL NOTE**************

Vanity Fair Magazine has released what they claim to be is the identity of Deep Throat (the second man in charge of the FBI at the time). In my honest opinion, this is a fabrication for the reasons below: (page references are to the book "All the President's Men")

1. Deep Throat knew the source of the Canuck letter (page 141). The source of that letter was Ken Clawson, and so he knew of it, long before anyone else including Vanity Fair's bogus Deep Throat.

2. The information Deep Throat provided to the reporters had to come from someone inside the White House who had access to Oval Office conversations. Ken Clawson was Director of Communications and of anyone else, he had the most complete access to those conversations which were leaked to the reporters. He was in control of the tape recorders that recorded through hidden microphones in the oval office, every conversation that took place in the oval office. The Vanity Fair bogus Deep Throat was not inside the White House but at the FBI headquarters, so he had no knowledge of those conversations, except through Ken Clawson. Those conversations ultimately were the cause of Nixon's resignation.

3. Ken Clawson worked for the Washington Post, and during this critical time in history, the authors and other Post reporters were given exclusive information by Clawson (pgs. 33, 84, 143 357 and others.)

4. On page 221, Deep Throat states: "Lawyers work this way" using the word "lawyers" in the objective sense, which indicates Deep Throat was not a lawyer. Vanity Fair's bogus Deep Throat WAS a lawyer, which obviously precludes him from being the real Deep Throat, who made a reference to lawyers as being in a profession not his own.

Note: It can be argued that the sentence can be construed to mean Deep Throat meant to say "we lawyers work this way", but reporters, esp. those involved in such a high risk story, are meticulous about their choice of words. Therefore, it can be safely assumed that according to the sentence, Deep Throat was not a lawyer. In fact, even if he were, all the other evidence excludes Vanity Fair's bogus Deep Throat from being the real Deep Throat. At best, he was a conduit from Ken Clawson to the Post reporters, and not the real hero of this tragic moment in American history..

Please check the link below to determine for yourself if the American people have been exposed to a Deep Throat "coverup". If so, then what are the motives behind this coverup?

The link at the bottom of this page finally answers the question:

Who was the real Deep Throat of Watergate fame?

The man deserves to be recognized as an unsung hero for his contribution to his country for exposing what could have been America's worst nightmare.
