COMMENT ON THE ONGOING MIDEAST SAGA
Americans - innocent Americans - are blamed for everything that goes wrong in the world - because of the guilt-by-association syndrome that Americans support Israel against the Arabs.
Israel is a Zionist state, not a Jewish state. Not all Jews are Zionists, and not all Jews support Zionist actions, such as occurred in the past and present by Jewish terrorists, acting in the name of Zionism.
Menachem Begin was one of the first Zionist terrorists. When Zionist Jews were looking for a homeland in the Mideast, they used terrorism to force the British to pass the Balfour Declaration giving Zionist Jews a homeland by kicking out the Palestinians and allowing Jews to occupy the homes left behind.
The act of terrorism that gave impetus to the passing of the Declaration was the bombing of the British Headquarters in Jerusalem in July 1946 by Jewish Terrorists. See link below which is from the Jewish Virtual Library:

The justified resentment by the Palestinians to being kicked out of their homes, has been directed toward the United States, because the United States Government is aiding Israel financially, militarily and politically. This resentment has spawned terrorists groups throughout the world, focusing their efforts on attacks such as we witnessed on September 11, 2001. Even though their resentment can be justified, terrorists acts against Americans who have nothing to do with where their government decides to spend its money, is pure madness. Killing Americans who more than likely are sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians, can only alienate the very people they need for justice to prevail.
America's Kissinger-style diplomacy being advanced by Condoleeza Rice, is nothing more than history repeating itself, but on a larger and broader scale, involving new brands of weapons, including those that can inflict massive casualties. Remember our 50,000 young who died in Vietnam? A drop in the bucket if we continue down this road.
God doesn't demand justice - God simply expects it - but will allow self-destruction if that is what we choose. God's happiness is infinite, ours is contingent on how we relate to one another, personally, nationally, and internationally. Either we all choose to be on God's side, or God will be on no one's side. It's our choice:
Stick with the old paradigms, or be brave and fearless in establishing new ones.
May God help us choose the paths that lead to glory,
Carmen
