Since the Prime Mover was never moved and will never be moved, then obviously the Prime Mover is stationary, else it is not the Prime Mover. Some then conclude that the Prime Mover is like a statue, frozen so to speak - immobile. Having been there, let me try to simplify this paradox rationally.
If you visualize a waterfall, Niagara Falls for example, where you have water continually flowing from it, we recognize that the source of this water is Lake Erie, but the lake itself is stationary, but the water is not. Lake Erie is trying to empty itself, through the Niagara River and over the falls, but the more water it pours out of itself, the more it has in reserve.
Now imagine that the water in Lake Erie is no longer water but light, with light continually pouring out of it. Further imagine that the source of this light is infinite - there is no end to it - ever. Because our minds are finite, we cannot comprehend an infinite source of light - but just as we know that water has been pouring over Niagara Falls at a huge rate for about 12 thousand years, it is impossible for our minds to comprehend how much water that would be. Scientists could calculate how much water goes over the falls, currently around 212,000 cubic feet per second, and they could multiply that number by 12,000 years, and give you the approximate volume of water that has gone over the falls up to now. This would be a just a number, but the human mind could not comprehend what that number signifies in terms of volume of water. So if you consider that God is not only the Source of all that water, but that God is also the Source of ALL water - AND - everything that exists in the entire physical universe, you cannot help but conclude that God is amazing.
Yet it is not as amazing as when you consider that God is not only the Source of what comprises the entire physical universe, but even more significantly, God is the Source of all that comprises the spiritual universe. God, in other words is the Source of all spiritual light, love, joy, beauty, power, and all that is good.
So now we can understand this paradox, of God being stationary and dynamic at the same time. Without moving an inch, God is the Source of all creation, and simultaneously radiates infinite spiritual light, love, joy and all things good.
O how beautiful are God's paradoxes - and rather than debate them - they should be enjoyed.
SO ENJOY!
